Frequently Asked Questions

Question:
What are your custom pins made of?

Answer: Custom pins are produced from steel (iron), copper, or aluminum material. They can be die struck, etched, printed or molded. Plating is available in gold, silver (nickel), copper or black (gun metal color). Posts with butterfly (military) clutch backs are standard on your custom pin.

Q: How long does it take to make the custom pins and when are they delivered?

A: Production time varies depending on quantity ordered, the size of each custom pin, the number of colors, desired effect required and the complexity of the design of your pin. The custom pins are delivered, normally, 4-5 weeks after art approval. (Art approval, in this case, refers to the stage of the production process in which the client can view an artist's rendering of what the design of the custom pin will look like). Rush orders are available at a slightly higher cost.

Q: When is payment for all orders due?

A: A deposit is required on all orders. Balance is due when custom pins are ready for shipment to the customers.

Q: Can I view a sample of your work?

A: Yes. Random samples of custom pins in the same material as we will use for your custom pins are available at no charge to view our workmanship. Contact us for more details.

Q: Can I view a sample of my custom pin before a mass quantity of the custom pins are produced?

A: Yes. However, viewing samples of your specific design incurs a mold charge and a processing fee (the latter is credited to your account when actually placing the final pin order). Samples of your specific design will add about 3 weeks to the total production time.

Q: What is the minimum amount of custom pins that I can order?

A: The minimum custom pin order is 100 per design for most types of custom pins.

Q: How are all the custom pin orders handled?

A: All custom pin orders are handled on an individual basis. Materials used are recommended based on desired effect required, quantity, size, number of colors and complexity of design of your custom pins. Price is affected by the same variable criteria. A one time mold/plate charge is required on most quantities.

Q: Can you customize art work and lettering?

A:Yes. Art work and lettering that require little completion time can be handled (in house) on the computer without extra charge. Outside artist help results in a $25 to $35 charge.
